Variable Data Printing (VDP) is a hot topic in the world of commercial printing. The theory with VDP is that with short runs and customized printing a client can improve the response rate for a mailing drastically.

The diagram below shows how you can combine an optimized mail list and print to create a personalized campaign. For example we are showing how a car dealership could help stay in contact with customers who have visited and test drove a vehicle. The car dealership would collect the make of the vehicle, the name of the prospective buyer, the salesperson, type of vehicle and color of vehicle. After John comes and looks at a new 2011 Chevy car, that is blue, and talked with Chad, the dealership can immediately process a customized mailer to thank the visitor and follow up.
